Following Sortation Center Guidelines
Safety is of the utmost importance to Shipt. While at the sortation center, follow all guidelines and safety protocols in place. Failure to do so creates a hazardous environment for drivers and sortation center pickup associates.
Recommendation: To ensure the safety of you and others, follow the instructions on signs provided by the sortation center. Consult with a sortation center pickup associate if you have any questions.
Early and Late Arrivals
Driver routes have designated times for drivers to arrive and pick up their routes that are based on sortation center operations. Therefore, a driver will be unable to access their gate pass if they arrive prior to the designated arrival time in their app. Similarly, a driver’s failure to arrive by the end of the designated pickup arrival window will result in the driver being removed from the route to ensure operational success.
Recommendation: To ensure operational success, review claimed routes ahead of time so you know when to head to the sortation center.
Dropping Routes
Drivers have the flexibility to drop routes they have claimed if their schedule changes or they are no longer able to complete a route on time at least one hour prior to the designated pickup arrival window. However, repeatedly dropping routes less than one hour prior to the designated pickup arrival window destabilizes the driver with Shipt platform and negatively impacts package recipients by delaying deliveries.
Recommendation: Focus on claiming routes that fit within your availability to avoid the need to drop routes. If something unexpected happens, call Shipt Support for assistance, and your case will be reviewed.
Not Picking Up Claimed Routes
Picking up claimed routes and being on time to the sortation center is key to success. When drivers claim a route, they are committing to arriving at the sortation center within the arrival window and completing the route accurately.
Recommendation: If something unexpected happens, call Shipt Support for assistance, and your case will be reviewed.
